How HTML changes in ePub

Robin Whittleton explains that while ePub is built on web standards, it twists them in unexpected ways. ePub uses XHTML, requiring strict XML syntax, namespaces, and ePub-specific semantics. CSS remains similar but limited by old rendering engines and minimal support for modern features. The Standard Ebooks toolset is a good place to start if you want to build your own ebook.
